Near his family’s home in Boston, Massachusetts, was Old North Church. It was sometimes called Eight Bell Church because of its eight huge brass bells. The smallest one weighed more than six hundred pounds. The largest weighed more than fifteen hundred pounds. Bell ringers pulled ropes on the bells to move them. Each bell made a different chime; all together, the ringing bells sounded beautiful. To this day they are considered the best bells in Boston. The bells weren’t just rung on Sunday mornings.
